Becca Kirkpatrick's PledgePage
I’m running the Birmingham Half Marathon in October this year. Instead of asking for sponsorship money for a charity, I am asking for people to pledge me a conversation, face-to-face, with somebody they know, about Universal Basic Income.
Universal Basic Income (UBI) is an idea that I’m very passionate about. I’m a trade unionist, a community organiser, a fitness instructor and carer for a disabled loved one. I see Universal Basic Income as a policy that could help people gain a new level of power over their own lives, and help society to flourish. While there is a rising level of debate about UBI on the web, there is less awareness of it offline. I’d like to see that change. If you are just finding out about UBI now, you can learn more about it here. How to pledge support. Check out the UBI resources here. Talk to somebody you know about it face-to-face and hear what they think. Facebook ‘shares’ do not count! Tell me – who did you talk to and what did they say? There’s no limit to the number of conversations that you can sponsor me with, and you can take part anywhere in the world. |
